Tamil Jr. Class (1/25/15)

In today's class, all kids worked on Letters "இ , ஈ ".  Most of the kids got it. Kids in Kindergarten and younger age have to work little more on it. We have sent the practice sheet with them in the file protector. Have them trace the letter couple of times  on the sheet using easel/whiteboard marker. 
  We will be using the file cover as easel to trace Tamil letters and future writing activity. 
  Please remember to bring them back to next class.We will need them on every class. 

  After writing, kids came forward one by one and talked about pongal/sankranthi celebrations. They all did a good job. They did their best to talk in Tamil. We will be working more on talking every class. We will have some simple topics for each class for the kids to talk. Kids can improve their vocabulary only by speaking. For now we will not be expecting correct grammar. Our first goal is to get them to speak the language. 

 For next class: 

• Kids who did not take the tracing sheet will have to work on letters "ஒ ,ஓ ". 
•  We will be working on writing on letters "இ ,ஈ " or "ஒ ,ஓ "  based on each kid's ability.
• We  will be learning Days of week.
• Topic to speak : "My favorite things ". Here are sample lines. kids need to speak atleast 3 to 4 sentences.

       என் பெயர் -----------.

      என்னுடைய வயது ---------.

      எனக்கு பிடித்த நிறம் ----------.

      எனக்கு பிடித்த உணவு ----------.

      எனக்கு பிடித்த விலங்கு --------.

      என் வீட்டில் , எனக்கு பிடித்த இடம் ---------.(can say the room name in english).

      எனக்கு பிடித்த விளையாட்டு  ---------( can say the sports name in english).

      எனக்கு பிடித்த திரைப்படம் (படம்) ----------.

Our next class will be 2/1/15

Tamil Jr. Class (1/4/15)

       This week we started tracing names. Kids have to find their name on the table and then traced their name and also tried to write first 3 or 4 vowels. They all did a very great job. We will continue to do this in future classes. Please send in a whiteboard marker or an easel marker along with their stationary.
      Then all the kids took turns and talked about what they did during their winter break. Kudos to all the kids. Thanks to all the parents for preparing the kids for that. 
      Then we practiced our action and house related words with flash cards.  We will be running a quiz on that next week.
  There is a homework for the next class. 

• Kids have write first 6 vowels in their notebook. Parents: - If the kids have difficulties in writing on their own, please write and have trace it or print the trace activity and have them trace it. 
• Kids have to say couple of sentences about Pongal or Sankaranthi, if they celebrate.

    We have shared the Google drive folder with all the parents. It has all the past attachments. We will keep uploading our future attachments also.If you have not received the email on that ,please email us BBNJtamil@gmail.com. We will share it again.
