November ,6th 2016

Tamil Junior:
   We worked on  vowel sounds. kids were made to write all the vowel letters.
 We did a joined the dots activity to review the vowel letter sequence.
In conversation, we learnt on greeting words. Please have them speak atleast 5 minutes every day in tamil at home, so that they will become comfortable with speaking.

Homework: 
   Test in writing all the vowel letters without looking in the book. 

Tamil Intermediate:
 In Tamil intermediate class, kids were asked to write the vowel sounds and the first 8 consonant sound with out looking in the book. Some of the kids can do it and some needed help.Please be sure that by next class they should come well prepared for the class with letters so that we can move further easily. We also did a oral practice of the full consonant sounds.
We also did the first 8 lines of Aaththichoodi.

We discussed kids about their celebration of diwali. Here are what the class said:

  •   விடியற்காலையில் எழுந்தோம் .
  •   எண்ணெய் தேய்த்து குளித்தோம் .
  •   பூஜை செய்தொம் .
  •   பட்டாசு வெடித்தோம் .
  •   புத்தி ஆடை அணிந்தோம் .
  •   வடை, பாயசம் ,இனிப்பு சாப்பிட்டோம்.
  •  நண்பர்களுடன் கொண்டாடினோம்.
  •  உறவினர் வீட்டிற்கு சென்றோம்.
  • அன்று சிவாத்மிகாவின் பிறந்தநாள் .
We also worked on conversation. Whole class took turns asking the questions and answering each other.

Homework: 

Kids should come well practiced in saying the full vowel and consonant letters.
Kids should be able to write 12 vowels and first 8 consonant sounds. 
Sing the first 8 line of Aaththichoodi.
Come prepared with four sentence to talk about themself. (Their name, class, their favorite color, food,sport...., their parents/friends/sibling names....)
Practice the page 18 sight words. They will be making sentences with them in the next class.
