Tamil Jr class 10-05-2014

Today we focused on writing letters அ - ஊ , Words with beginning sounds - அ ,ஆ,  and colors in Tamil. We had few new members to the class. New members are young and we will working with them to identify the vowel letters alone. Thanks to Vidya iyer for stepping up to help me in the class. Here are what we did in the class.

  • Whole class is given a sheet to trace the 6 vowels. Vidhya helped them in writing.  Once done tracing, kids are asked to try writing the letters in their notebook. They all did a great job.
  • While the kids are writing, I went around the class grouping 3 kids and worked on vocabulary.
  • We reviewed "my family" words.
  • We learned words with the beginning sound "அ ","ஆ ".  We will be reviewing the names again next week.
  • We practiced Primary and few secondary colors.  Smaller kids are made to roll a dice with color sides and asked to say the color names.
  • We will be working on these words as a whole class next week.
  • Finally we played "Letter Bingo". kids had fun with it. we had lots of  BINGO.
From next week, I will be emailing the parents with the coming week's lesson plan pdf file by friday night. Please print them  and have them in the kids folders. This package will have lessons that will be covered in that week's class, class activity sheet and homework sheet.  I will be emailing today's class packet. Few would have received it on Saturday night.  We did the page 1,3-6 in the class. Home work will be pages 7-10. We will work on numbers next week.

For the next week, please have the kids dressed in any solid  primary  or secondary color . We will be playing a color game with that. In the next week's package there will be few flash cards that we will  be using in the class.

If your kid is coming to tamil jr. class and not received  any email from me yet, please email me and update. Except for the new kids, who came today, I hope, I have the correct email for the whole class. Feel free to email me if you have any questions.
